Mexico’s Judo Team
Training at OTC in Colorado
Mexico’s National Judo Team are at the US Olympic Training Center with members of Team USA and Coach Eddie Liddie, Olympic Bronze Medalist and Director of High Performance for USA Judo.
"USA Judo is always ready to step up and support any neighboring countries of the Americas,to come to our clubs and train with our athletes and coaches,“ said Jose H. Rodriguez, USA Judo’s CEO. “In the case of Mexico, they wanted to do some altitude training getting ready for Pan American Games in Guadalajara. We have also had other countries such as Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Colombia, Peru train down in South Florida. In a few weeks we will have 8 coaches from Europe, Asia, and Africa spend 10 days at Jimmy Pedro’s dojo training with our Olympic Coach as part of a USOC International relations program."
Mexico's national judo team came to Colorado Springs in part for some high-altitude training. That doesn't get much more intense than a "run" up the infamous Manitou Incline, a roughly 2,000 foot climb in a mile.
