Personal: Dariusz entered the 2005 National Championship seeded #2 and won the event, going undefeated (5-0). These results earned him the chance to compete in a best-of-three playoff for a slot on the World Team, competing against top-seeded Shintaro Higashi (Scarsdale, N.Y.) who lost a second round match and did not place. Dariusz won two matches in a row and was named to his first World Team. He was the only athlete to come into the Nationals seeded below #1 to win the playoff and make the World Team.
