The USA Judo Winter Judo Training Camp will be held Jan. 8-14 at the Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid, N.Y.

Last year we had more than 100 athletes on the mat, and are expecting an even greater turnout this year with four countries already committed to send teams.

Funding is available for athletes who meet the following criteria in all Olympic weight divisions as well as 44kg and 55kg:

  • Reimbursement for a maximum of $300 of airfare will be provided to all A or B level athletes with at least 10 international points on the senior elite national roster as of January 1, 2007 AND
  • B level athletes who are ranked #1 in their senior division.

In addition, athletes who meet the above criteria also will have their housing provided at the Olympic Training Center.

Other athletes eligible to receive funded housing include:

  • Any athlete ranked in the top six of the weight divisions listed above on the senior elite national roster, dated January 1, 2007.
  • Any athlete ranked in the top five on the IJF-Junior Elite National Roster as of January 1, 2007 .
  • Any U.S. athlete who won the 2006 NCJA Collegiate Nationals in Tinley Park, Ill.
