3:35 p.m. Women fight Mexico on Mat B while men fight Mexico on Mat C.

Men's 66kg... Mexico threw Nick Kossor for a yuko and then an ippon in the first match.

Women's 52kg...  Franchesca Durand lost to Mexico by two penalties. 

Men's 81kg...  Travis Stevens was up by a shido and then threw Mexico. 

Men's 90kg...  Rick Hawn picks up a koka for Mexico's shido.  Rick is given a shido, then throws MEX for a yuko.  Mexico is given another shido and Rick throws him at :49 for ippon.

Women's 63kg...  Kristen Allan loses by a shido.

Men's 100kg... Team USA did not have a competitor in the division, giving Mexico a win by walkover.

Women's 70kg...  Team USA did not have a competitor in the division, giving Mexico a win by walkover.

Women's 78kg... Mexico did not have a competitor in the division, giving Team USA a win by walkover.

Men's +100kg...  Kirk Hoffmann fights a heavyweight who is a least eight inches taller and 40kg heavier.  The match rapidly becomes a penalty contest.  Mexico has one shido, the another.  Kirk and Mexico each get a shido in the last minute.  With 18 seconds left, both Kirk and MEX get shidos again, giving Kirk the match by hasukomake.

Women's +78kg...  As the match is already lost 1-3, the heavyweight division isn't contested.

4:42 p.m. Men fight Cuba in the semifinals.

66kg...  Kossor withdrew from the match.

81kg...  Stevens and Cuba were scoreless until Stevens received a penalty with 21 seconds left.  Girones of Cuba got a penalty with four seconds left.

90kg...  Rick Hawn fought a Cuban who favors groundwork.  Hawn gets pinned in the firstminute, but escapes.  Hawn gets a shido in the third minute and is thrown for yuko in the fourth.

Men drop down to fight Venezuela for bronze.

5:05 p.m. Women fight Venezuela in the repechage.

52kg... Durand lost by a shido.

63kg... Allan was thrown early in her match on the corner of the mat.

70kg... Team USA did not have a competitor in the division, giving Venezuela a win by walkover

78kg...  Venezuela did not have a competitor in the division, giving Team USA a win by walkover

Women's +78kg...  As the match is already lost 1-3, the heavyweight division isn't contested.

7 p.m.

Down three competitors to five, Team USA needs wins or draws in every match to win bronze against Venezuela.

66kg... Team USA did not have a competitor in the division, giving Venezuela a win by walkover

81kg...  Travis Stevens draws on a shido apiece against Venezuela.
