2007 Pan Am Coaches Notes from Jason Morris
The entire team is now all settled in and are in very good spirits. The draw took over 2 hours which is a bit longer than usual. The U.S. Women’s squad ended up with having to fight Cuba early in the draw in nearly every weight class which will make things much tougher. This event will be a great opportunity for our team to compete with the top people in the pan am union to gain valuable experience for the Pan Am Games. This being an Olympic qualifying event puts some of the athletes in a tough spot, having to get at least in the top five to qualify for the Pan Am Games which in turn helps them a spot for the Olympics. |
