Reaches More than Four Million Hits in
September!
Just two years after
the recreation of www.usjudo.org, USA Judo is pleased to
announce that the Web Site has broken a new record – achieving more than 4.2
million hits during the month of September alone.
One of the most
popular Web Sites in the international judo community, www.usjudo.org reached its highest point during the World Championships, Sept. 13-16, when more
than 25,000 unique visitors came to the page to follow Team USA’s quest for
gold.
This is in addition to
the thousands of hits to www.livesportsvideo.com where USA
Judo, USJF and USJA members all had the opportunity to watch
U.S.
athletes compete at the
World Championships in
Rio de
Janeiro
, culminating in footage of Ronda Rousey’s trip to the podium in the
70kg division.
"We knew that we would
have a great response to the innovative reporting from the World Championships
in
Rio
, but we really were surprised by these
great numbers. These numbers motivate us in USA Judo to continue to lead the way
to better and greater coverage of Judo within the
United
States,"
said
USA Judo President Dr.
Ron
Tripp.
USJudo.org continues
to be one of the top sites in the world for judo event coverage and traffic
spikes during major national and international events as was evidenced during
July when the combination of Pan American Games and USA Judo National Junior
Olympic Championships resulted in 3.4 million hits during the month.
Throughout the course
of 2007, www.usjudo.org has averaged around two million
hits per month with this month’s numbers more than doubling the hit average from
September 2006 and representing more than a four-fold increase over the monthly
averages of each of the final three months of 2005 when the new Web Site was
officially launched.
“Wow, this really
speaks volumes to what the future holds if we continue to think out of the box
in the promotion of Judo. We are now looking forward to work closely with the
new leadership of IJF in order to grow judo as a sport and an entertainment
value to our members as well as the general mixed martial arts audience out
there,” said USA Judo CEO Jose H.
Rodriguez.
Keep visiting www.usjudo.org –
where judo happens – throughout October as athletes from around the world come
to
Atlanta
for
the U.S. Open!
