The Magic of Disney Meets Judo at the 2008 Junior Olympics

USA Judo is proud to announce that the 2008 National Junior Olympic Championships to be held July 25-27 at Walt Disney World® Resort will feature an international division. 

The third day of competition will be open to competitors from both the United States as well as other nations in the Intermediate 2, Juvenile A, Juvenile B and IJF-Junior divisions which include athletes born between 1989 and 1997. 

The event will be known as the Junior Olympics International and is open to any national Judo federation wishing to enter any junior athlete.  

US Junior Open

Additional great news from USA Judo is the fact that athletes attending the Junior Olympics International will also have the opportunity to compete at the Junior U.S. Open as well as participate in the training camp which will be held the week before the Junior Olympics.  The Junior U.S. Open will be July 19-20 in Fort Lauderdale, FL and the training camp is July 21 - 23, 2008. Ft. Lauderdale is located about 3.5 hours south of Orlando, Florida home to Walt Disney World® Resort and this year’s Junior Olympics International for Judo.   

The 2008 Junior US Judo Open will be an exciting international sporting event for athletes from all over the world, ages 7 to 19!  Teams already invited to participate in this year’s Junior US Judo Open are: South Africa, Great Britain, New Zealand, Netherlands, Puerto Rico, Ecuador, Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Ukraine, Dominican Republic, Russia, Argentina, Bahamas, Netherland Antilles, Virgin Islands, and Barbados.

This July the place to be for all top Junior Judo athletes will be Florida--- Junior athletes will find world class competition while enjoying the warm beaches of Ft. Lauderdale and the unique entertainment value of Central Florida’s attractions! Don’t miss out on the action and the Fun this July, 2008!
