Marti Malloy takes 5th at World Cup in Austria

(Colorado Springs, CO) - Day 1

Marti Malloy, who scooped up gold around the world last year for Team USA, placed fifth Saturday at the European Judo Union World Cup in Oberwart, Austria, after winning three of five matches.

Training under Yosh Uchida at the USA Judo National Training Site at San Jose State University, Malloy won her first two rounds in under 4 minutes each before losing to the eventual gold medal winner in the 57 kg division, Aiko Sado of Japan.

Last year, Malloy took gold at the Belgian Ladies’ Open, the USA Judo Senior National Championships, the El Salvador World Cup and the USA World Cup.
