Junior Team Collects Medals in Lommell, Belgium
October 31, 2011 – A U.S. team of up-and-coming junior judo stars will be headed home soon from Belgium with a fist full of medals and a lot of new experience on the European circuit.
“The Flanders Cup was a fantastic event, the perfect event for breaking into the European circuit,” said Rick Meara, head coach of the team for USA Judo, and head sensei of Meara's Martial Arts & Judo Center in Burlington, Mass. “Our U.S.A. team did remarkably well, placing seven of the 11 members in the top five, including two silver and three bronze.”
