US Judo headed to Olympic qualifier in Guadalajara

US athletes will be fighting in Guadalajara early next month in hopes of qualifying for a shot at the ultimate medal podium at the Olympic Games in London next year.

This B-Level Pan American Senior Championships, which also qualifies players for the prestigious Pan American Games, is guaranteed to attract the biggest guns from teams throughout the Americas.

"This tournament is a qualifier for both the Olympic Games and the Pan American Games, so USA Judo is excited to be sponsoring a full team to Guadalajara." said Eddie Liddie, USA Judo's Director of Athlete Performance.  USA Judo is covering room, board, and airfare for all these top judokas.

Leading the 17 athletes will be Jimmy Pedro , head of Team FORCE in Wakefield, Mass. Chris Skelley will serve as team manager.

Included on the U.S. roster are powerhouse Kayla Harrison, Travis Stevens, Marti Malloy, and Nick Delpopolo. Complete roster is shown below.
