Teams head to Warsaw and Prague
(Colorado Springs, CO)
US Judo teams headed for World Cup matches in Poland and the Czech Republic this weekend in a European hunting trip for medals, ranking points and training camps.
Fighting for the men in Warsaw, Poland, are (weight divisions listed):
- Daniel McCormick, 100+ kg, Wakefield, Mass. / NYAC / USA Judo National Team FORCE
- Bobby Lee, 90kg, Wakefield, Mass./ USA Judo National Team FORCE
At the women’s open in Prague are:
- Anna Palmer, 57kg, USA Judo National Training Site at the Olympic Training Center
- Leilani Akiyama, 63kg , US Judo Training Center
- Hannah Martin, 57kg, Jason Morris Judo Center
- Nina Cutro-Kelly, 78+kg, Universal Judo
- Christal Ranson, 63kg, USA Judo National Training Site at the Olympic Training Center
- Natalie LaFon, 52kg, Jason Morris Judo Center
Coaching the women’s team in Prague is Eddie Liddie, USA Judo’s Director of Athlete Performance who oversees training of all elite contenders for the Olympic team.
Both the Czech Open and the Warsaw Open are A-Level tournaments, meaning that a players gets 15 points for a gold medal, 9 for a silver, 6 for a bronze and 3 for a fifth.
