World University Games 2011
Shenzhen China Aug 13-17th

USA Judo has partnered with the National Collegiate Judo Association to offer a self-funded competition opportunity to participate in the World University Games 2011. This event will be held August 13-17 in Shenzhen, China.
To be eligible for this event you must meet the following criteria:
- A USA Citizen and able to obtain a US Passport.
- Must be born between January 1, 1983 and January 1, 1993, have taken at least 1 (3 unit) course towards a degree or diploma within the last year prior to the games (your University will need to sign off on the “Certificate of Academy Eligibility”).
- Must hold a minimum rank of Sho-dan.
The cost for the event will be approximately $1113 plus airfare to Hong Kong. Your cost will include 8 nights in the Athlete Village and 3 meals per day, ground transportation in China and the cost for your Visa. The team will receive a complete set of Team USA gear.
We have open positions in the following weight Categories:
Women: 48kg, 57kg, 63kg, 70kg, 78kg, +78kg, Open
Men: 66kg, Open
All athletes on the USA Judo roster that meet the above criteria should email USA Judo by April 12th at 12:00p (noon) Mountain Standard Time. The highest ranked individual will be selected and contacted on April 13th. Selected athletes will have until April 20th to make the full payment of $1113 to the National Collegiate Judo Association.
