Middle School, High School and Collegiate National Championships

 

TRAFFIC PRECAUTIONS

To those flying to Chicago for the Middle School, High School & Collegiate  Nationals in Tinley Park, IL, the following information is being disseminated for your information:

 

These Championships are being held in Tinley Park, Illinois about 44 miles south of Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport and about 26 miles southwest of Chicago’s Midway Airport.  According to Mapquest, driving times are about 53 and 40 minutes respectively.  This assumes no traffic.  In traffic, these times can easily make you late.  Adequate time should be allowed to make it to registration and weigh-in’s ON TIME.  Closing times will be strictly enforced. 

 

Middle School and High School Registration and Weigh-In on Friday, March 24, 2006

Registration:  10:00am – 5:00pm

Weigh-In:  11:00am – 6:00pm

Collegiate Registration and Weigh-In on Saturday, March 25, 2006
Registration:  10:00am – 3:00pm

Weigh-In:  11:00am to 4:00pm

For those arriving into O’Hare International or Midway Airport and renting a car, please be aware of the following traffic conditions:

• There will be four tolls on I-294 as you travel south to Tinley Park
• Irving Park Road Plaza – $0.80 O’Hare
• Cermak Plaza – $0.80 O’Hare
• 82nd Street Plaza – $0.80 O’Hare and Midway
• 163rd Street Plaza – $0.80 O’Hare and Midway
• Having the correct change will get you though the automatic toll booths faster
• After you pass the 163rd Street Plaza, please stay to your right and exit onto I-80 West towards IOWA.
• For folks with I-Pass DO NOT ENTER THE OPEN ROAD TOLL SECTION at the 163rd Street Plaza.  There is NO exit to I-80 and you will be heading towards INDIANA.
• Plan on construction delays and heavy traffic on I-294 especially on Friday
