Lake Placid Training Camp
USA Judo will be playing host to a training camp at the Lake Placid Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid, N.Y., Jan. 9-15. The #1 and #2-ranked athletes in on the Senior Roster as of Dec. 8 as well as all B-Level Seniors and the top-ranked IJF-Junior athletes in Olympic weight divisions will have their room and board provided at the OTC. All other attending athletes will be required to pay for their own expenses.

Two-time Olympic medalist and 1999 World Champion Jimmy Pedro (Methuen, Mass./Pedro's Judo Club) will be the lead coach for the event.
Additional coaching staff include:
- Israel Hernandez (Brownsville, Texas/Brownsville USA Judo National Training Site), two-time Olympic medalist.
- Eddie Liddie (Colorado Springs, Colo./U.S. Olympic Training Center), 1984 Olympic bronze medalist and six-time World Championship Team coach.
- Jason Morris (Scotia, N.Y./Jason Morris Judo Club), 1992 Olympic silver medalist and 2005 World Championship Team coach.
- Jhonny Prado (Coral Springs, Fla./North Miami USA Judo National Training Site), 2005 Pan Am Infantil, Junior and Juvenile Team coach.
- German Velazco (Coral Springs, Fla./North Miami USA Judo National Training Site), 2000 Olympian.
- David Matsumoto (Richmond, Calif./East Bay Judo Institute), 1996 Olympic Team Leader and 2003 USA Judo Coach of the Year.
