Rousey, Gotay and Reser Earn Top 10 World
Rankings
Three of the best players
in the
United States
were
recognized for their international achievements by the European Judo Union who
ranked each of the
U.S.
players in the top 10 of the
Oct. 1 World Rankings.
Ronda Rousey
(Wakefield,
Mass.
/ USA Judo National Team FORCE / NYAC) is the
#4-ranked player in the 70kg division following her silver medal win at the
World Championships in Rio de Janeiro in September. Rousey also received critical points for
winning the Vienna World Cup in February and placing third at the Pan American
Championships in May.
Valerie Gotay
(Harlingen,
Texas

moved up to
the #6 ranking in the 57kg division. Gotay moved up from her previous ranking of #9 after she placed third on
Sept. 28 at the Rotterdam Super World Cup. Gotay also holds a high ranking due to her gold medal win at the Pan Am
Championships in May as well as placings at the 2006 Pan Ams and several World
Cup events.

ranked in the top 10 since winning the Pan Am Championships in May. Currently holding a #9 ranking, Reser also
earned points for winning back-to-back silver medals at the 2006
