USA Judo Partners with France for New Exchange Program
USA Judo is pleased to announce a new partnership with France in which U.S. players will have the opportunity to compete against and train with French players, both in the United States and in France.
A team of five French athletes, led by coaches Sauveur Soriano (Scarsdale, N.Y.) and Maxime Nouvchy (FRA) will be training in the United States from June 25-July 4.
The team will be conducting a clinic from 8-10 p.m. on June 25 at Tech Judo in North Bergen, N.J. Entry for the clinic is $25, payable at the door. For more information, contact Soriano at westchesterjudo@hotmail.com .
In addition, the athletes will be participating in three of the USA Judo Summer Training Camps, including:
June 26-30: Mayo Quanchi and Pedro’s Judo Center Camps
July 1-4: USA Judo National Training Site at the Jason Morris Judo Center Camp
French athletes scheduled to participate in these training opportunities include:
- Fadel Lettat (60kg)
- Nicolas Bernard (81kg)
- Mathias Truffy (90kg)
- Jerome Senac (90kg)
- Benoit Gay (100kg)
Eight French athletes (four men and four women) and two coaches also will be participating in the U.S. Open, Oct. 20-21 in Atlanta, Ga. as well as the subsequent training camp.
Top senior athletes as well as USA Judo Elite U-23 Team and junior athletes also will have the opportunity to participate in exchange trips to France and train at INSEP, France’s national judo training center, during the next year.
