Personal: Hailing from Eugene, Ore., Rick spent eight years at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs pursuing his Olympic dream, leading up to the 2004 Athens Olympic Games. Rick missed out on the Sydney Games when the team was selected without a Trials; however, he dominated his opponents in 2004 to qualify for his first Olympic Team. In 2005, Rick relocated to Wakefield, Mass. where he is training under his Athens teammate, two-time Olympic medalist Jimmy Pedro. In February, Rick moved up a weight division from 81kg to 90kg where he would go on to win the Senior National Championships and the Pan Am Games and World Team Trials.
