USA Judo… the path to the martial art of judo
at any level.
Judo is one of only two martial sports that are part of the
Olympic Games. In 1964, men’s judo made its debut at
the Tokyo Games.Women’s judo became a full-medal event
at the Barcelona Games in 1992. As the recognized National
Governing Body for judo by the United States Olympic Committee,
USA Judo is responsible for the development, support and selection
of the USA Olympic Teams.
As part of the development program, USA Judo holds National
Championships every year for Juniors, Emerging Elites, Collegiate/High
School and Seniors. USA Judo also hosts other international
competitions, such as the U.S. Open and, beginning winter
2005, dual meets with other countries.
USA Judo is growing grassroots development programs in the
United States by joining forces with youth-oriented agencies.
Judo is a martial art that can be a life-long sport for all!
